After a long stretch apart, my friend group was finally reuniting, and I wanted to plan something fun to bring everyone together. As someone who thrives on event planning and regularly hosts solo car concerts, I knew a karaoke night would strike the perfect chord. I hosted the first one in my apartment, complete with audio gear setup, lighting, and a pre-emptive bribe to my neighbor to keep things friendly.

What made this event stand out for me was how it blended multiple skill sets from different areas of my life: audio technology, music, logistics planning, and even basic UX-style diagramming for flow and structure. The night was a hit, and it’s since evolved into a semi-annual tradition that improves with every round.

Over time, we've introduced themed nights where guests dress up as their favorite artists, added ambient lighting upgrades, and experimented with systems like QR code registration (still working on the adoption rate). We’ve also layered in interactive games like Karaoke Jenga and Musical Jeopardy for mid-party breaks. Live performances have also been part of this event.

What started as a fun reunion has grown into a creative, recurring event that I’m proud to host, not just for the memories it creates, but for the opportunity it gives me to fuse technical, creative, and community-building skills.
