The Move was a garage band I played in with friends, brought together by a shared love of music and a lot of free time. We spent our weekends jamming, experimenting with covers, and tightening our setlist just for the fun of it. Eventually, we landed a spot playing a two-hour set at the Brookville Community Picnic, where we got to perform in front of a lively crowd and put all that practice to good use.
Our set pulled from a wide range of rock and alternative influences, with covers from Muse, Led Zeppelin, Paramore, Green Day, Tom Petty, and The Animals. The variety kept things interesting and helped me get more comfortable shifting between styles.
The Move wasn’t about big ambitions—it was about playing music we loved with people we enjoyed being around. It gave me valuable stage experience, helped me build confidence, and created memories I still look back on fondly.
